Between Spain and Italy - Horsham

I just realised (with some gentle prodding) that because I don’t have any photos of the occasion I omitted to mention our flying visit to my cousin Fraser aka David Steele and his lovely wife Sarah and their two daughters Heather and Elizabeth. As our plane from Oviedo arrived at Stansted on the Friday night and we were departing from Gatwick on the Saturday afternoon Fraser and Sarah had kindly offered to collect us from the coach terminal at Gatwick airport on the Friday and drop us back off again the following day. They live in Horsham. Not the Horsham in Victoria about 70km from where we live but the one in the UK not too far from Gatwick.

Unfortunately our flight from Oviedo was delayed by about an hour and so we didn’t get to Gatwick until rather late as the coach was also delayed by about 15 minutes due to a stroppy coach driver. Fraser and Sarah had prepared a couple of yummy curries and those along with some very nice naan bread made a most welcome dinner on the Friday night.

On Saturday morning I was treated to a dance exhibition very kindly arranged for me by Heather and afterwards we went into the back garden and played kick a goal. This was while waiting for Claire (another of my cousins) and her husband Russell and their son Lucas to arrive. They live about an hour and a half’s drive from Fraser and Sarah’s place and kindly popped over for a visit. From left to right Lucas, Claire, Heather me, Frank and Elizabeth.

It was really nice to see Fraser, Sarah, Heather and Claire again and to meet Russell, Lucas and Elizabeth for the first time. All too soon it was time to say our farewells and get back into Fraser’s car and head off to Gatwick for the flight to Venice.
